The latest episode of “Saturday Night Live” kicked off with a hilarious sketch featuring James Austin Johnson as Donald Trump. The former president was seen on Air Force One commenting on the battle to buy Warner Bros. Discovery, questioning why anyone would want to purchase the studio. Trump humorously criticized the studio lot tours in LA, calling them lackluster and unimpressive.

In the skit, Trump was accompanied by press secretary Karoline Leavitt, played by Ashley Padilla. Johnson’s portrayal of Trump was spot-on, capturing his mannerisms and infamous one-liners. The comedic timing between the two actors added to the comedic effect of the sketch.

During the sketch, Trump made a joke about taking both an Ambien and Adderall, leading to some unpredictable behavior. He also openly complimented Leavitt, praising her looks and joking about his inappropriate behavior towards her.

The sketch took aim at Trump’s contentious relationship with the press, with the character hurling insults at a fictional CNN reporter reminiscent of his real-life interactions with journalists. The skit also featured a satirical take on Trump’s foreign policy decisions, including a comical scene involving Santa and his reindeer.

One of the standout moments of the sketch was when Trump was questioned about Jeffrey Epstein photos released by House Democrats. Trump dismissed the photos as fake news, but acknowledged the existence of embarrassing images with his likeness on condoms.

The episode also featured Josh O’Connor as the host, with Lily Allen as the musical guest. O’Connor, known for his role in “The Crown,” made his hosting debut on “SNL,” while Allen returned to the show for the first time since 2007.
