JD Vance Leads Poll for 2028 GOP Presidential Candidate
According to a recent poll, JD Vance is still the frontrunner for the 2028 Republican presidential candidate, with 42% of Republicans and right-leaning independents supporting him. Following Vance is Donald Trump Jr. at 13%, Ron DeSantis at 7%, and Marco Rubio at 5%.
However, when looking at different age groups, the gap between Vance and Trump Jr. narrows. Among voters aged 18 to 29, Trump Jr. is only three points ahead of Vance. This is a significant shift from previous data in April, where Vance had a commanding lead over Trump Jr. in this age group.
Despite never holding public office, Trump Jr. has been a trusted advisor to his father and served as the honorary chair of Trump’s presidential transition team after the 2024 election. In May, Trump Jr. hinted at a potential presidential run, stating, “I don’t know, maybe one day, you know – that calling is there. I think my father has truly changed the Republican Party. I think it’s the America First party now, the MAGA party, however you want to look at it.”
As the 2028 election draws closer, it will be interesting to see how the dynamics of the Republican party evolve and whether Trump Jr. will ultimately decide to throw his hat into the ring.
