Trump’s Approval Rating Hits Record Low
According to CNN pollster Harry Enten, Trump’s net approval rating among independents has gone from negative 16 percent in 2017 to negative 22 percent in 2025, marking a new record low for the president.
Enten noted that independents are increasingly dissatisfied with Trump’s rhetoric, especially on issues such as the economy, tariffs, and overall governance.
On Tuesday, the chief executive of Goldman Sachs, David Solomon, expressed concerns about the impact of Trump’s tariffs on the U.S. economy, warning of a heightened risk of recession due to escalating trade tensions.
During an earnings call, Solomon highlighted the shifting operating environment and emphasized the potential negative implications of a prolonged trade war on both domestic and global growth.
