Donald Trump has issued a strong warning to Elon Musk, suggesting that it would be wiser for the tech entrepreneur to steer clear of politics entirely rather than supporting Democratic candidates in the upcoming midterms.
The Commander-in-Chief drew a firm line in the sand for his former ally during a recent phone conversation with NBC News, stating that he would not hesitate to take action against Musk if he throws his support behind Democrats instead of Republicans who endorse Trump’s tax and spending initiatives.
Trump declared, “He will face very severe consequences if he chooses to do so.”
This latest exchange is part of an ongoing feud between Trump and Musk, which escalated after Elon criticized the president’s spending bill, alleging it was riddled with unnecessary expenses and claiming that Trump’s re-election victory was largely due to his own support.
Trump dismissed Musk’s claims and the dispute descended into a public spat, with Musk alleging that the administration was withholding sensitive information related to Jeffrey Epstein because of the president’s alleged involvement – a claim that remains unsubstantiated.

Musk later deleted the Epstein-related post, suggesting a potential de-escalation of their conflict – provided that Elon refrains from associating with Democratic causes.
