Former U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) chief, Tom Homan, recently proposed a bold plan for mass deportation of undocumented migrants in the country. Homan emphasized that no undocumented migrant would be exempt from potential deportation under his plan.

The focus of Homan’s blueprint is on deporting the “worst of the worst” offenders and tightening border security. This would involve measures such as shutting down the U.S. southern border, wall construction, and restarting the “Remain in Mexico” program. Homan justified his approach by pointing out the historic illegal immigration crisis that the country is facing, with millions of illegal aliens released within the borders.

Homan acknowledged the criticism of his plan, stating, “People say, well, it sounds awful cruel, you want to remove millions.” However, he argued that with the unprecedented numbers of illegal immigrants in the country, action needs to be taken to address the issue effectively.

One of the more controversial aspects of Homan’s proposal is the suggestion to involve the U.S. military in the deportation process. While the military would not have arrest powers, they could assist in transportation, infrastructure building, and logistics to support the rising number of deportees. This would help in streamlining the deportation process and ensuring that facilities are equipped to handle the influx of deportees.

Overall, Homan’s plan is a comprehensive approach to addressing the challenges posed by illegal immigration in the country. By focusing on deporting criminal offenders and enhancing border security, he aims to tackle the issue head-on and ensure that the rule of law is upheld. While the plan may face criticism and opposition, it represents a proactive stance on addressing the complex issue of illegal immigration.
