Dr. Drew Pinsky, a well-known figure in American television medicine, has recently graced FOX News with his insights into a rather intriguing psychological phenomenon he dubs Trump Derangement Syndrome (TDS).
While TDS has been in circulation for quite some time, it appears to have intensified for many Democrats as former President Trump continues to notch victories. It’s almost as if his success has become a psychological trigger for a certain segment of the populace.
Dr. Pinsky, despite not being a psychiatrist, presents a compelling analysis of this mental affliction, attributing its roots to narcissistic tendencies. At its core, the afflicted individual perceives the world through a lens of self-importance, believing that the political landscape revolves solely around their personal grievances.
Below is a transcript of his thoughts from an interview with FOX News:
RAYMOND ARROYO, FOX NEWS: In light of this widespread crisis, we’ve enlisted the help of Dr. Drew Pinsky, host of Ask Doctor Drew on Rumble and YouTube, who also serves as the chief patient officer for a wellness company. What would be your prescription for Congresswoman Britney Peterson, who appears to be grappling with a severe case of TDS?
DR. DREW PINSKY, HOST OF ASK DR. DREW ON RUMBLE: Absolutely, she is exhibiting classic symptoms. Let’s dissect this, shall we? The first sign is an overwhelming sense of personal crisis; this is happening to me! The president’s actions are directed solely at me, and I’m emotionally destabilized because of it. This is pure narcissism.
Secondly, there’s a distinct element of performance art involved, as Speaker Johnson pointed out. It’s a theatrical display; “Look at me! I need you to witness my struggle!”
And finally, we see the most profound narcissistic impulse: I must demonstrate that I care more than you do, and in doing so, I position myself as superior.
A dose of reality testing could do wonders for these individuals, perhaps coupled with an extended vacation. It’s essential to remember that they often perceive external events as direct reflections of their internal turmoil.
ARROYO: So, it’s a matter of perspective?
PINSKY: Yes, indeed. This represents a deeply pathological state of mind.
It seems Dr. Pinsky has hit the nail on the head, doesn’t it?
