Dr. Phil criticized Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., for her recent comments about the United States becoming one of the “worst countries” in the world.
“She has the right to express her opinions, but I personally find it appalling. Those who voted for her should reconsider their choice and hold her accountable,” Dr. Phil stated.
Omar stated in an interview with Democracy Now! that she finds it distressing to witness the U.S. turning into one of the worst countries in the world, referencing President Donald Trump’s military parade on Flag Day.
Dr. Phil suggested that Omar should go back to Somalia if she is so critical of the United States.
He pointed out the challenges faced in Somalia, such as female genital mutilation, child soldier recruitment, famine, and tribal violence, contrasting them with the opportunities and freedoms available in America.
Dr. Phil also highlighted Omar’s previous controversial statements regarding white people, the system of oppression, and her comparison of the US and Israel to Hamas and the Taliban.
Ultimately, Dr. Phil emphasized the importance of gratitude for the opportunities provided in America and suggested that Omar should appreciate the country or consider returning to Somalia.
