Court Filings Reveal Shocking Details of Golf Course Incident

Court documents have shed light on a disturbing incident that took place at the Billy Caldwell Golf Course, involving a 30-year-old man named Tory Gardner who allegedly drove onto the course and struck a 70-year-old golfer. The altercation escalated when Gardner confronted course employees with a knife, leading to a series of dangerous events.

According to prosecutors, Gardner admitted to driving on the golf course as a shortcut, disregarding warnings from multiple individuals to leave the property. When his SUV became entangled in a piece of rope fencing, an off-duty course employee attempted to intervene by puncturing the tire of Gardner’s vehicle.

The situation quickly escalated as Gardner brandished a knife and charged at the employee, as captured in a video posted by Chicago Contrarian. Despite attempts to stop him, Gardner continued driving at high speed, eventually colliding with another vehicle on the course.

Tragically, Gardner struck the elderly golfer and failed to stop or show any remorse for his actions. The victim suffered severe injuries, including brain bleeds and a leg hematoma, requiring intensive care treatment.

Despite the gravity of the situation, Gardner showed no intention of stopping until law enforcement officers arrived at the scene. He now faces charges of aggravated battery of a senior citizen causing great bodily harm and unlawful possession of a weapon by a felon.

During a court hearing, Judge Anthony Calabrese ordered Gardner to be detained pending trial, highlighting the seriousness of the charges against him.
