Dustin Rhodes has recently announced a setback in an upcoming event leading up to AEW All In: Texas, taking a step away from the All Elite Wrestling ring. The veteran wrestler, known as The Natural, has been a prominent figure in the wrestling industry for almost four decades. Despite his long career, he continues to shine in both AEW and ROH, currently holding the ROH Tag Team and Six-Man tag titles as part of the Sons of Texas. In a recent event at Double or Nothing, he and Sammy Guevara challenged the Hurt Syndicate for the AEW Tag Team Title.
Taking to Twitter, Dustin Rhodes shared the unfortunate news about his upcoming event, the “Natural Truth,” scheduled to take place during All In week at Puzzles Deep Ellum in Dallas. Due to low ticket sales, he has made the decision to change the venue, date, and time of the event, rescheduling it for Thursday, July 10. The new venue is yet to be revealed.
Last year, during an edition of AEW Collision, The Sons of Texas secured a victory against Matt Taven and Mike Bennett of the Undisputed Kingdom, claiming the ROH Tag Team Champions title. Since then, they have successfully defended their title for over 300 days, even competing together on an international stage at the Tokyo Dome. While they may have fallen short in their recent match against the Hurt Syndicate, Dustin Rhodes and Sammy Guevara remain formidable champions in their own right.
It remains to be seen if any competitors on the roster can challenge their reign as champions. As Dustin Rhodes navigates this setback with his event, fans eagerly anticipate his next move in the wrestling world. Stay tuned for updates on the rescheduled “Natural Truth” event and the future endeavors of The Natural in the wrestling scene.
