Dylan Barbour recently found himself in hot water after suggesting to his wife, Hannah Godwin, that they should start working out more. The former Bachelorette star, 31, took to Instagram on December 29 to share a hilarious post about the consequences he faced for his innocent suggestion.
In the post, Barbour shared a series of photos of himself and Godwin posing behind a fake Daily Mail headline that humorously read, “Man sentenced to death after agreeing with wife they should start working out more.” The caption accompanying the post read, “🚨BREAKING: A local man has been sentenced to death after agreeing with his wife that they should ‘probably start working out more.’”
Adding more humor to the situation, Barbour wrote, “According to court records, the man nodded in agreement and said, ‘Yeah, that’s probably a good idea for us,’ moments before the atmosphere in the room reportedly shifted.” He continued, “Prosecutors allege the statement was interpreted as ‘confirmation of preexisting suspicions,’ despite the defendant insisting he was ‘talking about himself too.’ The man’s final words were said to be: ‘I meant for me. I was talking about me.’ An appeal has been denied.”
Fans and members of Bachelor Nation were quick to join in on the laughter in the comments section, with one writing, “😂😂😂,” and another adding, “This is peak comedy.” Others confessed that they initially fell for the fake headline, with one saying, “I actually thought something serious happened. 🤣😂🤣😂.”
Barbour and Godwin first met on season 6 of Bachelor in Paradise in 2019. After falling in love on the show, they got engaged during the finale episode. Four years later, Barbour surprised Godwin with a second proposal in 2023, just days before their wedding in France.
The couple tied the knot at the Chateau de Villette in Condécourt, France, on August 23, 2023. Their wedding was attended by several Bachelor Nation members, including Cassie Randolph, Tyler Cameron, Demi Burnett, Mike Johnson, Katie Morton, and Jed Wyatt.
Since getting married, Barbour and Godwin have shared details about their life together in San Diego. Barbour mentioned that they are “super chill” and have been together for almost six years. While they did not make an appearance on season 10 of Bachelor in Paradise, the couple remains open to the possibility in the future.
Overall, the couple’s journey from reality TV to real-life romance has been filled with love, laughter, and plenty of memorable moments. Their fans continue to support them as they navigate married life together.
