Earth Day 2026 presents an opportunity to address the environmental harm caused by recent U.S. policy changes that have undermined long-standing climate preservation efforts vital for our planet’s survival. EarthDay.org has announced the theme for this year’s events, “Our Power, Our Planet,” with activities planned for April 18th—a day dedicated to action—and April 22nd, the traditional Earth Day. This year, rather than merely appreciating nature, individuals are encouraged to actively oppose the rollback of environmental safeguards established since the first Earth Day in 1970, which led to the formation of pivotal initiatives like the Environmental Protection Agency, the Clean Water Act, and the Clean Air Act.
