Teen Accuses Erika Scholtes of Physical, Emotional, and Psychological Abuse
The teenager, whose mother passed away in February 2024 and is now a ward of the state, has made serious allegations against Erika Scholtes for “repeated physical, emotional, and psychological abuse.” According to court documents obtained by Radar, Erika is accused of aiding, abetting, and/or directly participating in the abuse of the teenager and maintaining a violent and unsafe home environment.
The eldest daughter, who is turning 18 next week, is currently being represented by her former guardian in a civil suit against Erika. This comes after multiple investigations by Arizona’s Department of Child Safety on behalf of the teenager.
Christopher Scholtes, the father, has been investigated nine times for allegations of neglect, physical, and emotional abuse between June 2014 and December 2020. Reports suggest that he would slap and spank the child, leaving bruises on her body. One particular incident involved him slapping the child so hard that she lost her breath and leaving her to manage her diabetes without parental oversight.
