This week, former CNN correspondent and Democratic activist Jim Acosta hosted a live event in Washington, D.C., rallying a cadre of his most vocally anti-Trump associates.
Among the guests was Rosie O’Donnell, who made a virtual appearance from her new residence in Ireland. During her segment, she espoused a new conspiracy theory suggesting that Elon Musk had somehow manipulated the 2024 election results, asserting that Trump was not the legitimate victor.
For years, Democrats and the media have branded election denialism as a perilous affront to democracy. One wonders if they will hold O’Donnell accountable for her latest claims.
The Washington Free Beacon reported:
Rosie O’Donnell, the actress-turned-activist who left the U.S. earlier this year, beamed in from Ireland, much to the audience’s mixed reception. At least one attendee found Acosta’s attempt at an Irish accent—“top of the mornin’ to ya, Rosie”—deeply unsettling.
O’Donnell echoed Acosta’s sentiments regarding the media’s supposed obsession with President Biden’s cognitive abilities, arguing that the real focus should be on Trump, whom she labeled a “criminal” lacking the mental capacity to understand his actions. In her view, among Trump’s many alleged offenses is the “unfair” winning of the 2024 election. “I believe Elon Musk did something,” she claimed. “I believe the down-ballot proof. I believe that he did not win this election because I am looking at how many people Kamala Harris had, and I just don’t believe it.” O’Donnell further posited that everything Trump articulates serves as “an indictment against himself,” and she characterized his supporters as exhibiting “cult-like” behavior.

This isn’t O’Donnell’s first foray into such claims; she made similar assertions during an interview on Irish television earlier this year. Notably, she received no objection from Acosta, highlighting a curious lack of accountability that permeates these discussions. One must question whether the Democratic establishment will remain silent on this issue, as they often do when it suits their narrative.
