Voice AI company ElevenLabs has recently launched a standalone mobile app for both iOS and Android users, allowing them to easily generate voice clips from text. Prior to this release, users had to rely on ElevenLabs’ web app to create samples using its AI-powered voice libraries. With the new mobile app, generating voice clips on the go has become more convenient.

To use the app, users simply need to input or paste the desired text and then select a suitable voice to generate an audio clip. The app offers a free plan that grants users access to approximately 10 minutes of audio generation. Users can also choose from different models to find a balance between cost and quality, with a shared credit limit between the web and mobile app.

One of the key features of the app is its access to ElevenLabs’ latest text-to-speech models, known as v3 alpha, which enable users to control expressions using tags. This advanced functionality sets the app apart from other voice cloning and generation tools like Speechify and Captions.

Jack McDermott, the mobile growth lead at ElevenLabs, highlighted the growing demand for a native mobile experience among content creators, marketers, educators, voice artists, and professionals. He emphasized the need for a faster, more intuitive, and powerful tool to cater to the diverse needs of the company’s community.

This new mobile app marks ElevenLabs’ second consumer-facing application, following the release of the Reader app last year. The Reader app allows users to listen to articles, blogs, PDFs, and e-books on the go, and has recently been opened up for publishers to distribute audiobooks. Looking ahead, ElevenLabs plans to introduce additional features such as speech-to-text capabilities and a conversational AI agent tool. The company also aims to incorporate MCP-powered experiences like 11.ai into the app in the future.

Overall, ElevenLabs’ new mobile app represents a significant step forward in enhancing the user experience and providing more accessible and versatile tools for voice generation and manipulation. With a focus on innovation and user feedback, ElevenLabs continues to make strides in the field of voice AI technology.
