Elie Saab Resort Collection: Daywear Takes Center Stage
Elie Saab, known for his glamorous eveningwear, showcased his serious commitment to daywear in his latest resort collection. The lineup featured trans-seasonal staples like flared jeans, wide high-waisted trousers, a double-breasted gabardine jacket, and a roomy blouson in chocolate-colored leather. Saab also introduced his latest takes on the safari skirt, crafted in twill or buttery black leather. A classic trench coat was given a modern twist with side zippers that could reveal or conceal accordion pleats, adding a touch of femininity to the timeless piece.
Emphasizing easy layering, Saab reimagined key pieces such as a denim jacket with macramé sleeves, one-and-done day dresses in English eyelet or floral-printed knit, and fine knits, lacy lingerie tops, and travel-friendly sweaters that exuded effortless sophistication. The collection also featured youthful touches, like a polka-dot silk pajama top and shorts ensemble worn under a blazer, and a multi-colored cardigan and bralette twinset paired with low-rise flares.
For his eveningwear offerings, Saab did not disappoint. A mesh knit lingerie dress, a beige tweed with hints of sky blue, and gradient gunmetal sequins on gowns and jumpsuits added a touch of glamour to the collection. A sunburst halter dress adorned with crystals and a sunrise sequin effect in shades of gold, dusty pink, and mocha sparkled under the lights. Accessories included a new version of The Wave handbag, a collaboration with designer Marina Raphael, featuring a bamboo handle.
