Tesla CEO Elon Musk Celebrates New Compensation Package Approval
After receiving approval from Tesla shareholders for a potentially $1 trillion compensation package, CEO Elon Musk seems to be enjoying a normal weekend on his social media platform X.
On Saturday morning, Musk posted a video created by Grok Imagine, a new photo and video tool from his company xAI. The video, generated by Musk’s prompt “She smiles and says, ‘I will always love you,'” features an animated woman on a rainy street speaking those words in a synthetic voice.
Shortly after, Musk shared another Grok-generated video of actress Sydney Sweeney saying, “You are so cringe,” in a voice that is not typical of Sweeney.
While the use of AI-generated content is becoming more common, some X users criticized Musk’s posts. One user described the “always love you” video as “the most divorced post of all time,” while another called it “the saddest post in the history of this website.”
Notably, acclaimed author Joyce Carol Oates offered a scathing critique of Musk’s online presence. In response to Musk’s lack of posts about topics like friends, nature, or music, Oates commented that Musk appears “totally uneducated, uncultured,” suggesting that even the poorest individuals on Twitter may have more access to beauty and meaning in life than the wealthiest person in the world.
In response to Oates’ comments, Musk simply labeled her a liar who enjoys being mean, dismissing her criticisms.
