The race for governor in New Jersey is neck-and-neck, as indicated by a recent poll from Emerson College.
Republican candidate Jack Ciattarelli and Democratic contender Mikie Sherrill find themselves tied at 34 percent support.

This polling data was analyzed by Spencer Kimball, the executive director of Emerson College Polling:
Our first general election survey for the 2025 New Jersey gubernatorial race depicts an intensely competitive environment. Among younger voters under age 40, Sherrill enjoys a significant advantage, leading 58% to 24%.
The dynamics shift among voters in their 40s, where Sherrill leads by a narrower margin of 47% to 40%. Contrastingly, Ciattarelli gains a full rebound among those over 50, where he leads Sherrill 52% to 36%.
A notable gender gap also surfaces: women support Sherrill by a ten-point margin at 46% to 36%, whereas men favor Ciattarelli by a 12-point margin, 51% to 39%. Interestingly, 15% of women remain undecided compared to just 6% of men.
As both President Trump and Governor Murphy face criticism from Jersey voters, Sherrill is keen on linking Ciattarelli to Trump on the national stage, while Ciattarelli points to Sherrill’s association with Murphy and the rising cost of living for state residents.
Conservative advocate Scott Presler is rallying the Republican grassroots to help propel Ciattarelli to victory.
I urge every conservative influencer across the nation to come to New Jersey.

During their recent debate, Ciattarelli criticized Sherrill for her increasing wealth since entering politics, contrasting it with his own financial struggles as a candidate. His remarks raised eyebrows:

Ciattarelli previously faced off against incumbent Democrat Phil Murphy during the 2021 gubernatorial election, narrowly losing by just over three percent.
