Eric Dane Reflects on Past Scandal with Rebecca Gayheart
Eric Dane, known for his role on Grey’s Anatomy, has been haunted by a scandal that rocked his personal life back in 2009. A leaked video surfaced showing Dane and his wife, Rebecca Gayheart, in a bathtub with another woman.
At the time, Dane expressed regret over the tape, admitting that “We all make mistakes.” He specifically mentioned his regret over involving the person he loves most, Rebecca, in the scandal.
However, in a surprising turn of events, Dane later changed his tune in a 2019 interview. He stated, “Looking back now, was it a mistake? Absolutely not. Three consenting adults, one of them being my wife? I wasn’t doing anything wrong.”
The woman in the video was identified as former beauty queen Kari Ann Peniche, who had previously posed for Playboy. In the video, Gayheart is heard mentioning that she needed to lie down because she was feeling high, though the specific drug was not disclosed.
Dane clarified his earlier statement about regret, explaining that he was likely referring to the drug use alluded to in the video. He emphasized that he did not believe he was breaking any laws or corrupting anyone, as they were simply three individuals taking a bath.
When asked about whether he felt the need to apologize for the scandal, Dane firmly stated, “I didn’t regret it. I have no regrets, nor do I make any apologies for my life experience. It’s my life experience, and I am at peace with all of it.”
Despite the controversy that followed him, Eric Dane remains unapologetic about the leaked video and stands by his belief that he did nothing wrong.
