Hulu has unveiled the official trailer for its upcoming limited series, “Washington Black,” featuring Ernest Kingsley Jr. and Sterling K. Brown. Scheduled to premiere on July 23 on Hulu in the U.S. and Disney+ internationally, the eight-episode series is an adaptation of Esi Edugyan’s acclaimed novel of the same name.
The story revolves around George Washington “Wash” Black, an intelligent eleven-year-old boy born on a sugar plantation in Barbados. Following a life-altering accident, Wash embarks on a thrilling adventure that challenges his perception of family, freedom, and love. As he navigates uncharted territories and daunting obstacles, Wash discovers the courage to envision a future beyond the constraints of his upbringing.
Joining the cast alongside Kingsley Jr. and Brown are Tom Ellis, Rupert Graves, Iola Evans, Edward Bluemel, Charles Dance, Sharon Duncan-Brewster, Eddie Karanja, Julian Rhind-Tutt, Shaunette Renée Wilson, Blaine Dorey, Ntare Guma Mbaho Mwine, and Billy Boyd.
