Prime Video’s provocative comedy series “Escort Boys” is making a highly anticipated return for its second season, set to premiere at Canneseries. The show, which delves into the world of male escorts in Southern France, explores themes of gender power dynamics, romantic love, female sexuality, and toxic masculinity.
Based on the Israeli series “Johnny and the Knights of Galilee” (“Milk and Honey”) and directed by Ruben Alves, “Escort Boys” follows four young men who turn to escorting to save their family business. The first season was a hit, attracting international sales and a strong following. Now, as the second season unfolds, the story takes a darker turn.
Producer Myriam Gharbi-de Vasselot of Oberkampf Productions describes Season 2 as a departure from the original format, focusing on the consequences and limitations of prostitution. The main characters find themselves back in the escorting business after a failed hotel venture leaves them in debt and without a home. The season will delve into issues such as sex addiction, trauma, and the complexities of human relationships.
Despite the heavier themes, the show will maintain its signature blend of drama and comedy, with moments that are both funny and touching. A stellar cast of guest stars, including Josiane Balasko and Marisa Berenson, will join the returning main cast in bringing the story to life.
Prime Video is set to premiere the second season of “Escort Boys” in France, followed by releases in Italy, Spain, Germany, and the U.K. Producer Myriam Gharbi-de Vasselot is also involved in developing a range of new projects with international partners, including a female-led series and a thriller based on a bestselling U.S. book.
With its bold storytelling and talented cast, “Escort Boys” Season 2 promises to be a must-watch for fans of the series and newcomers alike. Stay tuned for more updates on this exciting new season.
