Hyphenate Media Group, co-founded by Eva Longoria and Cris Abrego, has recently announced a partnership with iHeartMedia’s My Cultura podcast network. This collaboration will see Hyphenate producing a variety of new podcast titles specifically catered to the Latino community.
The agreement between Hyphenate and iHeartMedia was inspired by the success of the Black Effect podcast network, launched in 2020 in partnership with radio personality Charlamagne Tha God. Following in the footsteps of this prosperous venture, Hyphenate aims to amplify Latino voices and talent through their partnership with My Cultura.
Eva Longoria, known for her work on podcasts like “Hungry for History” and “Connections with Eva Longoria,” expressed her excitement about the opportunity to elevate Latino stories through the intimate medium of podcasting. She emphasized the importance of storytelling in shaping cultural narratives and connecting with audiences on a deeper level.
As part of the deal, Hyphenate will also join My Cultura’s board of advisors, further solidifying their commitment to fostering diverse and authentic content. Cris Abrego highlighted the significance of expanding into the audio space and working with talented creators to bring compelling stories to life.
The My Cultura podcast network, established in 2021, has experienced significant growth in listenership, reflecting the rising interest in podcasts among Latino audiences. With Latinos being one of the fastest-growing demographics for podcast consumption, there is a growing demand for culturally relevant content that resonates with diverse communities.
Enrique Santos, President and CEO of iHeartLatino, praised the collaboration with Hyphenate as a milestone for My Cultura, marking its fourth anniversary. He commended Eva Longoria for her dedication to promoting Latino representation in the entertainment industry and creating opportunities for underrepresented voices.
In a rapidly evolving media landscape, podcasting has emerged as a powerful platform for storytelling and creative expression. By investing in podcast production, Hyphenate aims to not only expand their reach but also incubate ideas that can be adapted into other forms of media, such as television and film.
Overall, the partnership between Hyphenate and My Cultura signifies a significant step towards amplifying Latino voices in the podcasting world. With a focus on authenticity, diversity, and storytelling, this collaboration is poised to make a lasting impact on the podcasting industry and beyond.
