On a typical day, the writer, director, and star of Sorry Baby, Eva Victor, might choose to wear anything from “oversized shirts, baggy pants, occasionally shorts, tank tops, denim, knits, and formal trousers, to button-down shirts, Converse, Uggs, or loafers.” Their style description? “At times I’m channeling ‘the kid wearing dad’s clothes’ and other times ‘the English professor who encourages students to refer to them by their first name.’”
For the first Loewe show by Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez in Paris today, Victor and stylist Danielle Goldberg opted for a sophisticated English professor vibe, donning a custom blue button-down layered over black straight-leg trousers, which showcased the rounded toe of stylish black pumps. “I’m obsessed with these layered button-downs—they’re incredibly comfortable, airy, and effortlessly chic. I saw Britt Lower wearing a green one today, and I need that in my closet,” she shares. “This ensemble gives me the sensation of a constant summer breeze.”
It’s no surprise that Victor—who portrayed a doctoral student and later a professor in Sorry Baby—infused a scholarly perspective into the fashion show experience. “The incredible part of preparing for a fashion show is the opportunity to celebrate this surge of creativity—it’s so climactic, offering ten minutes filled with pure energy, inspiration, and beauty. It feels like experiencing a moving museum,” she explains. “Here, I have the privilege of witnessing the art firsthand. It’s an honor to be among the first to experience this live expression of creativity.”
When reflecting on the runway itself, Victor focused not so much on standout pieces but on an encompassing sensation. “It felt like an explosion of textures, colors, and vitality, and I came away with a sense of brightness, youthfulness, summer, and strength,” they remark. However, that doesn’t stop them from compiling a wishlist: “I adored the structured leather jackets, especially when styled with nothing underneath, the sweaters elegantly tied over shirts, the voluminous butter-colored fringed jacket, and the transparent pumps with vibrant socks inside. Those eye-catching striped long dresses are high on my list to try on…there were so many remarkable, celebratory moments, it’s impossible to pick just one!”

This is a snapshot of me prepping for the event. I chose this as my introductory image to welcome you while I guide you through this Get Ready With Me experience. My eyes seem to say: “Hi there, let’s dive into this adventure!”

The incredible team behind my look—Anh Co Tran, Mika Meoki, Duncan Cheng, and Carolina Dalí. We had a genuinely fun time, and it’s amusing because in this picture we acted a bit differently as if a camera was trained on us—but we shared plenty of laughs, and interestingly, not one of us was an earth sign, which was kind of a relief (no offense).
