Streaming giant Netflix is set to unveil Charlie Sheen’s tumultuous Hollywood saga in an in-depth, two-part documentary titled aka Charlie Sheen.

This latest project on the platform, as revealed by RadarOnline.com, chronicle’s the acclaimed actor’s battles and triumphs throughout his storied career.

Directed by Andrew Renzi, aka Charlie Sheen dives deep into the high and low moments of the Red Dawn star’s life.

The documentary’s narrative encapsulates: “With seven hard-fought years of sobriety behind him, Charlie Sheen – as you’ve never seen him – finally lays everything out, revisiting the peaks and valleys of his public existence with humor, heart, and unfiltered honesty.”

In an interview with Tudum, Renzi shared insights on Sheen’s initial hesitation about participating. He quoted Sheen saying, “Why step into this arena in this way?”

Renzi emphasized the significance of rapport, stating: “I had seven to eight months of building a relationship with him before we even filmed. That groundwork was crucial.”

The director poignantly noted that Sheen’s story deserves exposure: “People often shy away from hearing narratives of those who’ve made mistakes; however, we should be learning from their experiences. Who could share these lessons better than someone who’s endured the storm?”

While his father, Martin, and brother Emilio were initially set to feature, they opted out; Renzi mentioned their continued support and desire for Sheen to shine in this moment.

Ahead of its premiere, Netflix presented a two-minute trailer on its YouTube platform. The sneak peek showcases Sheen’s transition from a Malibu upbringing to meteoric fame, followed by a tumultuous decline, all captured through the lens of public scrutiny.
