The tragic death of former NFL star Kevin Johnson has left his family and friends devastated. Johnson, 55, was found murdered in a homeless encampment along the LA River last month. His son, Branden Johnson, is determined to ensure that his father is remembered for the loving and kind-hearted man he was, rather than the circumstances of his death.

According to Branden, Kevin had discovered the encampment about six months ago and would occasionally spend a few nights there, despite knowing the dangers. He tried to downplay the risks to his son, not wanting him to worry. However, Johnson’s body was found on January 21st, and the medical examiner determined that he had died from blunt head trauma and stab wounds.

The camp where Johnson was murdered has now been linked to at least three other killings, leading investigators to believe that the same person may be responsible for all four deaths. Michelle Steele, Octavio Arias, and Mauro Alfaro are the other victims who lost their lives in the Compton Creek area over the past few months.

Friends of Johnson have suggested that he may have been suffering from CTE, a degenerative brain disease associated with repeated head trauma. Despite his struggles, those who knew him describe him as a gentle and kind individual with no trace of anger or malice in his heart.

As investigators work to determine the motive behind the killings, Branden Johnson is left mourning the loss of his best friend and father. He remembers Kevin as a loving and caring person who he spoke to almost every day, even in difficult circumstances.

The tragic death of Kevin Johnson serves as a reminder of the dangers faced by those living on the streets and the urgent need for solutions to address homelessness and provide support for vulnerable individuals. The legacy of Kevin Johnson should not be defined by the circumstances of his death but by the love and kindness he showed to those around him during his life.
