Tragic news as Suman Mokhtarian, a former UFC competitor, has lost his life at just 33 years old after a suspected targeted shooting incident in Australia.
Reported by The Daily Telegraph, officials from New South Wales state believe Mokhtarian was on a walk when he encountered the shooter. Witnesses indicated shots were fired from a red Audi around 6 PM local time before the vehicle fled the scene.
Mokhtarian suffered injuries to his upper torso, and despite paramedics’ efforts, he could not be revived.
In a shocking previous incident in 2024, an assailant attempted to take Mokhtarian’s life outside the Australian Top Team gym where he coached. The gunman, posing as a delivery person, shot at Suman but fortunately missed.
That shooter was later apprehended but subsequently released on bail.
In April, law enforcement had to cancel a local MMA event, suspecting Mokhtarian was a target of a gang-related plot.
Even though officials have not publicly identified Mokhtarian, his colleagues at Australian Top Team have shared heartfelt tributes on social media following his untimely passing.
Authorities have yet to reveal additional details surrounding this tragic event.
Rest in peace.
