Dr. Keith Ablow, Hunter Biden’s previous psychiatrist, shared insights with The Post’s Miranda Devine about why the former first son abandoned multiple “laptops from hell”. He proposed that the answer may lie in the depths of Biden’s subconscious.
“One doesn’t need a psychiatry degree to suggest that if a person is leaving behind such sensitive information, there might be a Freudian urge to part with that segment of their existence,” Ablow, 63, remarked during a recent episode of the “Pod Force One” podcast, referencing Hunter’s scandalous escapades involving drugs and sex.
“It’s fascinating,” the former Fox News contributor and bestselling author added. “While many Democrats might disagree, there’s a notion that a higher power operates in mysterious ways. If you feel discontent with your life or the narrative you’re living, if it’s inauthentic to you – and I’m uncertain if he perceives this – given his reported evolution into an artist, a stark contrast to his previous lifestyle – you might unconsciously seek to release that fraudulent identity.
“If asked if it is far-fetched to think that Hunter would instinctively rid himself of that part of him by leaving it behind repeatedly, yet ultimately navigating toward an entirely different existence, my response would be, ‘Absolutely, that’s possible,’” Ablow noted.
“This aligns closely with psychological theory. ”

Now 55, Hunter notoriously left a laptop at a Delaware repair shop in 2019, just weeks after his father announced his run for president. This laptop contained incriminating emails related to questionable business dealings involving then-Vice President Joe Biden and other family members, as well as explicit videos of him indulging in drugs and engaging with sex workers. The repair shop owner, John Paul Mac Isaac, contacted the FBI upon discovering alarming content on the device, and subsequently shared a hard drive copy with an associate of Rudy Giuliani. This led to a series of significant revelations about the Biden family’s international business dealings published by The Post.
The laptop was cited by federal prosecutors as evidence in Hunter’s gun trial, resulting in his conviction on three felony counts, followed by a pardon from his father.

In the podcast episode, Devine and Ablow examined how Hunter’s relationship with his father, Joe Biden, was both formed and tested by tragic events such as the 1972 car accident that resulted in the deaths of Hunter’s mother and sister and the passing of his elder brother Beau from brain cancer in 2015.
“When you are a child in the backseat during such a catastrophic event that takes the lives of your mother and sister, it creates a lasting impact,” the psychiatrist shared. “This would create an immense need for a strong connection and an exaggerated hope for that parent, now your sole guardian, to handle things impeccably?”
“Would you form a powerful bond with that individual? Absolutely. Could this lead to some internal conflict regarding your identity? Certainly, as everyone desires to assert their individuality. If that connection appears to overshadow your sense of self, especially to someone like your father, you may find yourself taking drastic and unpredictable steps to secure your own life path.”
“As for addiction triggers, it often stems from deep emotional pain. If a person struggles to confront the profound grief of their early loss, they might resort to drugs to escape those feelings.”
