Catherine, Princess of Wales, has recently found herself the target of harsh online ridicule regarding her new hairstyle. Some detractors have unkindly labeled her blonde hair a “cancer wig,” insinuating that it masks hair loss from her ongoing treatment, as reported by RadarOnline.com.
The 43-year-old royal stepped back into the public eye this month following the royal family’s summer hiatus, unveiling a lighter hair shade during a visit to London’s Natural History Museum.

Kate Middleton Confronts Unkind Wig Speculation After Hairstyle Update
Princess faces vile trolling over blonde locks.
Shortly after her debut with the blonde hairstyle, Kate made an appearance at Brighton & Hove Albion’s stadium to support England’s Red Roses, quickly reverting to her familiar brunette look.
This rapid shift prompted speculation that the cruel comments may have affected her, especially as she adjusts to life post her cancer diagnosis.
“The remarks were appalling,” a source close to the princess shared. “People were ridiculing her, insisting the blonde style was just a wig intended to conceal baldness.”
“Given everything she’s endured, that level of trolling is truly horrendous.”

Supporters Rally as Hair Criticism Triggers Outcry Online
Cancer survivors say mocking hair loss is ‘unbelievably cruel.’
“She’s been transparent about her battles with cancer while maintaining grace – it’s revolting that people would use this against her,” commented a second insider.
“Kate is wholly dedicated to her responsibilities and rarely complains. After months of chemotherapy, alterations to her hair are an inevitable aspect of her journey. To mock her appearance is tremendously cruel.”
Harriet Kessie-Cudjoe, a salon owner in London who supports cancer patients, expressed her dismay at the online backlash.
“For many patients, hair represents more than just aesthetics; it’s a crucial part of their identity,” she explained. “Experiencing hair loss due to cancer can feel like losing a piece of one’s self. Kindness is essential in these situations. While online comments may seem trivial, they can cut deeply for individuals navigating the aftermath of treatment.”

Princess of Wales Gains Public Solidarity Amid Cancer Recovery
Princess bravely returns to duties despite trolls.
Celebrity stylist Sam McKnight, who has previously styled the late Princess Diana, took to social media to condemn the vitriol aimed at Kate.
“I am appalled and disgusted by the unkind remarks directed at the Princess of Wales today,” he posted, after her latest appearance flaunting blonde hair.
“A woman’s hair is a deeply personal aspect of her identity; it functions as her shield, her confidence, and so much more.
“She has served our nation with unparalleled grace and humility; thus, I implore you all to show her the respect she deserves. SHAME ON YOU.”
In March 2024, Kate disclosed her cancer diagnosis and the preventive chemotherapy she was undergoing. After a significant hiatus from her royal duties, she joyfully announced in September that her cancer is now in remission. However, she has candidly recognized the ongoing challenges in her recovery journey.

Supporters rally behind Kate after shocking abuse.
During a visit to the cancer wellbeing center at Colchester Hospital in July, she candidly discussed the unseen struggles that often accompany cancer treatment.
“When you emerge from treatment, people expect everything to return to normal – ‘You’re back!’ she expressed. “But, that’s hardly the reality. You sport a brave facade throughout treatment; once it’s over, you feel pressed to regain your former self. The aftermath, however, can be quite challenging.”
Kate conveyed, “Post-treatment, you are often no longer in contact with the clinical team, yet you may find it hard to function at home as you used to. Discovering a new sense of normalcy takes time and effort.”
