Extremely disheartening update on Adam Cole’s AEW status

AEW star Adam Cole has been out of action for the past seven months, leaving fans wondering when he will make his return to the ring. Cole’s last match was just before All In: Texas, where he was scheduled to face Kyle Fletcher but had to step away due to a concussion.

Throughout his AEW run, Cole has faced multiple injuries, with his ankle injury in 2023 keeping him sidelined for over a year. However, his current injury appears to be more serious, as reports suggest that he is dealing with post-concussion syndrome. According to Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful, AEW President Tony Khan is prioritizing Cole’s health and won’t rush his return to action.

“I’ve heard nothing and I ask pretty often about once a month. I know that Tony Khan would never want Adam Cole compromising his health or recovery just to be on TV or the road. We have seen that happen with Kenny Omega and Bryan Danielson. They return to the road to do commentary or agenting or creative work and it worsens their injuries. I know Adam Cole was dealing with some post-concussion syndrome symptoms around the time he retired,” SRS reported.

Despite being sidelined, Cole has found solace in gaming, a passion of his for many years. In a recent Instagram post, he shared that purchasing a new arcade game had helped him cope with the challenges of his hiatus. “Its been a challenging time for me this past year and let me tell you this made my entire year,” said the AEW star.

As fans eagerly await Cole’s return, it remains uncertain when he will be back in action. His focus on gaming and recovery suggests that he is taking the necessary time to heal and prioritize his health before stepping back into the ring. Only time will tell when the former TNT Champion will make his highly anticipated comeback to AEW.
