Donald Trump faced criticism for attending a recent dignified transfer ceremony for troops who died in the Iran war while wearing a baseball cap.

He subsequently referenced the event in a fundraising email.

Families grieving the loss of their loved ones may feel additional pain seeing this solemn occasion used for promotional purposes.

The AP highlighted Trump’s nonchalant approach to American casualties in the conflict, during the first Iran war dignified transfer:

“It’s the bad part of war,” he remarked to reporters. When asked if he anticipated more visits for similar ceremonies as the conflict continued, he replied, “I’m sure. I hate to do it, but it’s a part of war, isn’t it?”

Though expressing disdain for such events, Trump has not ceased this elective conflict, which poses further risks to American lives.

The upcoming dignified transfer will honor six US troops who perished in a plane crash over western Iraq while supporting the Iran war efforts.

Evidently, the families involved in this week’s ceremony wish to keep their period of mourning free from publicity exploitation.
