Former Arkansas State Senator Jon Woods, known for his staunch conservative values and early endorsement of Donald Trump in 2016, is reportedly in critical condition following a disastrous emergency heart surgery.
To add to the distress, his family is currently in the dark regarding his whereabouts.
Woods, now 47, has been incarcerated in federal prison since his contentious prosecution nearly a decade ago—a case instigated by Jack Smith, the same prosecutor now scrutinizing Trump. At the time, Smith was at the helm of the DOJ’s Public Integrity Section, which allegedly targeted Woods for his support of Trump in a state that has historically favored the Clintons.
The Trump administration has aimed to reform the “Public Integrity Section,” which has a history of politically motivated prosecutions, including a case against Eric Adams for challenging the Biden administration’s immigration policies. This department is often perceived as a breeding ground for political persecution against conservatives. Notably, former DOJ attorney Robert Heberle, linked to the alleged 2020 voter fraud cover-up, was discreetly ousted from the department in February.
Woods, along with other so-called political prisoners victimized by the Obama administration, has held out hope for a presidential pardon since Trump’s victory over the so-called Deep State.
Recent reports indicate that Woods’ health took a turn for the worse after receiving the COVID vaccine, prompting his friends and family to urgently appeal to President Trump for a pardon before it’s too late.
ADMISSION OF EVIDENCE DESTRUCTION IN WOODS’ CASE
The circumstances surrounding Woods’ case have long been tainted by allegations of political retribution. One FBI agent involved, Robert Cessario, admitted to destroying crucial “Brady” evidence that could have cleared Woods. While Cessario received a mere three years of probation, Woods is serving a staggering 18-year sentence.
Cessario confessed to destroying original audio files that were critical to Woods’ conviction. However, the judge ruled that Woods could not utilize this evidence in his defense, as he couldn’t prove its contents would have exonerated him.
Woods and his supporters assert that the erased evidence would have revealed that the disgraced FBI agent was directing witnesses to provide false testimonies, orchestrating a scheme to frame Woods as a close ally of Trump.
Despite the serious nature of these allegations, the federal judge granted Cessario only probation for his intentional destruction of evidence.
The allegations against Woods centered on his endorsement of a state grant to a Christian college where he served as an advisor, leading to his excessive 18-year sentence.
INMATES RECEIVING COVID VACCINES LINKED TO HEALTH CRISIS
Family sources reveal that while in prison, Woods received seven COVID-19 vaccinations. Shortly thereafter, he was diagnosed with atrial fibrillation (Afib) and a defective heart valve. An emergency surgery in Texas resulted in severe complications, necessitating a second extensive procedure.
This was the last communication anyone had about his condition.
Since then, his family has faced barriers—denied visitation, deprived of information, and left in uncertainty about his health and location.
“Jon is fighting for his life, and we don’t even know where he is,” lamented a close friend of Woods, who preferred to remain anonymous for fear of reprisal. “This is cruel and inhumane. It’s time for President Trump to take action.”
“HE STOOD WITH TRUMP, NOW HE NEEDS HELP BEFORE THE DEEP STATE DOJ CLAIMS HIS LIFE.”
Conservative leaders are now rallying for Trump to grant a presidential pardon for Woods, emphasizing the urgency of the situation.
has labeled Woods as one of the political prisoners victimized during the Obama administration as early as January 2021.
“This is a man who backed President Trump when it was unpopular, and they dismantled his life for it,” remarked a prominent conservative activist. “He’s already lost eight years and now faces a critical health crisis. His family deserves to be by his side.”
Woods’ situation has ignited outrage on the right, not only due to the politically charged nature of his prosecution but also because of the misconduct that emerged during and after his trial. Advocates argue that the federal government flouted its own regulations to bring him down.
Now, with his health in jeopardy and life precariously hanging in the balance, the call for justice has reached a fever pitch.
“We’re praying for Jon and pleading with President Trump to intervene,” said his friend. “This pardon could be a matter of life or death. Allow his family to bring him home.”
Recently, Jon Woods managed to connect with his brother Rob for a 25-minute phone call—the first direct communication since his alarming heart operations last week. Rob reported that Jon was emotional, in pain, and overwhelmed by his ordeal, yet still concerned for his family and supporters.
During the call, Rob learned that Jon had undergone a scheduled four-hour surgery to mend a faulty heart valve, but complications arose shortly after, leading to a second emergency surgery. Doctors discovered a leak causing internal bleeding, necessitating the extraction of a liter of blood from his stomach.
That second surgery left Jon’s heart significantly weakened, with his heart rate plummeting to a concerning 30 beats per minute. Medical staff are now closely observing him to determine whether he will need a pacemaker in the coming days. “The doctor attributes this to the trauma he experienced,” Rob explained.
In his vivid recounting, Jon painted a harrowing picture of his current state: tubes protruding from his chest, arms bruised from IVs, and his body swollen from saline. He’s been administered what he described as an “insane amount” of blood thinners, morphine, and diuretics, rendering him too weak to stand or walk without risking fainting.
“He asked me to convey his love to everyone,” Rob said, his voice trembling. “He mentioned each person by name and expressed that if anything were to happen to him, he hopes we’ll continue to fight to clear his name.”
Despite Jon’s dire condition, Rob reports that the prison’s unit manager continues to deny the family visitation, claiming policy permits visits only when an inmate is in terminal condition. “We can’t help but question the level of care he’s receiving,” Rob stated. “This situation could have been avoided. For now, we’re hoping that the worst is behind us and that the pacemaker will set him on the path to recovery.”
Supporters persist in their calls for immediate action from President Trump. “A pardon at this juncture is not only a legal remedy—it could also be a life-saving measure,” emphasized one advocate. “Let this man reunite with his family. Let him go home.”
Jon Woods symbolizes a larger narrative in America as of October 2024: his salvation hinges on the intervention of President Donald Trump.
