‘Family Matters’ Actor Bryton James
Initiates Divorce Proceedings

Bryton James, famed for his role as Ritchie Crawford on “Family Matters,” is ending his marriage just shy of a year after their wedding, according to TMZ.
Documents from the court reveal that Bryton, who currently appears on “The Young and the Restless,” filed for divorce on Monday in Los Angeles, citing irreconcilable differences withJahaira James.
The legal paperwork shows that the couple wed in March 2025 but separated within months, in June. They do not have any children together.
Bryton is requesting that neither party be awarded spousal support.
Additionally, Bryton is asking for Jahaira to revert to her maiden name once the divorce is finalized.
Bryton was previously wed to Ashley Leisinger, with their marriage taking place on March 16, 2011, in a ceremony led by his “Young & the Restless” co-star Christian LeBlanc. The couple divorced in 2014.
