“Fauda,” the popular action thriller series centered around Israeli undercover operatives, is gearing up for its highly anticipated Season 5. Production is scheduled to begin in late April, with the new season set to explore both domestic and international storylines.

Created by actor Lior Raz and journalist Avi Issacharoff, “Fauda” Season 5 will see the return of top-tier talent, including writer Omri Shenhar and director Omri Givon, known for their work on successful Israeli shows like “Tehran” and “Hostages.” The specifics of the cast and plot are being kept tightly under wraps for now.

The upcoming season of “Fauda,” which translates to “chaos” in Arabic, is expected to debut on Yes TV in Israel in early 2026 before being made available for global audiences on Netflix. The series, a collaboration between Yes TV and L. Benasuly Productions, is handled internationally by Yes Studios.

Sharon Levi, managing director of Yes Studios, expressed excitement for the return of “Fauda,” citing its immense popularity and global impact over the years. The show, based on real-life experiences, aims to shed light on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and the complexities of the modern Middle East through the lens of elite Israeli operatives fighting terrorism.

The development of Season 5 faced setbacks following the tragic events of the Hamas attack and subsequent conflict in Gaza, which resulted in the loss of key production member Matan Meir and injuries to cast member Idan Amedi. The season had to be reworked in response to these events.

Despite the challenges, “Fauda” continues to receive accolades for its authentic performances and gripping narratives. The series has been honored with multiple awards at the Israeli Academy TV Awards, including Best Series, Screenplay, Director, and Actor.
