A recent SWAT raid involving a convicted felon, Luke Daley, and his 77-year-old mother has sparked speculation in the disappearance case of Nancy Guthrie. The raid took place just two miles away from where Savannah Guthrie’s mother, Nancy, was believed to have been abducted from her bed in Tucson, Arizona. However, Daley’s attorney, Chris Scileppi, has adamantly denied any connection between his clients and Guthrie’s disappearance.
Daley, who has a criminal record including convictions for drug-related offenses and fleeing from law enforcement, was briefly detained during the raid but was not arrested in connection to the case. Despite his checkered past, Daley and his mother maintain their innocence and express hope for Nancy Guthrie’s safe return.
The search for Nancy Guthrie, the 84-year-old mother of “Today” show host Savannah Guthrie, has been ongoing for three weeks since she went missing on February 1st. Despite numerous tips from the public and surveillance footage of a masked suspect at her home on the night of her disappearance, investigators have yet to identify any suspects.
DNA evidence collected from Guthrie’s home and a black glove found nearby have been entered into the FBI’s DNA database for potential matches. While Daley’s DNA is in the database due to his criminal history, no matches have been found so far.
In a recent development, the Pima County Sheriff’s Department announced the discovery of new biological evidence during a search of the Daley’s residence. DNA profiles from this evidence are currently under analysis in hopes of shedding light on Guthrie’s disappearance.
As the investigation into Nancy Guthrie’s disappearance continues, the Tucson community remains hopeful for her safe return, while law enforcement pursues all leads to bring closure to this troubling case.
