American alpine ski racer Lindsey Vonn is gearing up for a strong comeback to winter sports, inspired by her mother’s resilience. Vonn, who retired in 2019 due to injuries, underwent knee replacement surgery and is now aiming to represent Team USA at the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milano Cortina.

In a recent interview with Outside Online, Vonn shared the story of her mother, Linda Krohn Lund, who had a stroke during childbirth, leaving her physically limited but always positive. Vonn expressed how her mother’s unwavering spirit motivated her to push through challenges and strive for excellence in her own career.

Reflecting on her training for the upcoming Winter Olympics, Vonn took to Instagram to share her excitement, calling her team a “dream team” and expressing her love for ski racing. Despite initially thinking she would never race again, the successful surgery transformed Vonn’s perspective, leading her to embrace the opportunity to compete once more.

Vonn made her Olympic debut at 17 and achieved success at the 2010 Vancouver Olympics, winning gold in the women’s downhill event and bronze in the women’s Super G event. As she prepares for the 2026 Winter Olympics, Vonn is determined to give her best performance yet and make her mark on the world stage once again.

With her mother’s strength as inspiration and a renewed passion for ski racing, Lindsey Vonn is ready to tackle the challenges ahead and showcase her talent at the upcoming Winter Olympics in Milano Cortina. Let’s cheer her on as she continues to inspire audiences with her resilience and determination on the slopes.
