Matt Lauria has officially joined the cast of the highly anticipated CBS spinoff series, “Sheriff Country,” which is based on the popular show “Fire Country.” This announcement comes after Morena Baccarin was previously revealed to be the lead of the series when it was greenlit by CBS in May of last year.
In “Sheriff Country,” Lauria will star alongside Baccarin, playing the role of a character named Mickey Fox. Baccarin’s character, Mickey Fox, is described as a no-nonsense sheriff who patrols the streets of the small town of Edgewater. She also happens to be the stepsister of Sharon Leone, played by Diane Farr from “Fire Country.” As Mickey navigates her duties as a sheriff, she must also deal with her ex-convict father, portrayed by W. Earl Brown, and a mysterious incident involving her troubled daughter.
The official logline for the series promises an exciting blend of crime-solving and family drama, as Mickey Fox tackles criminal activity in her community while facing personal challenges within her own family dynamic.
Fans of Lauria, Baccarin, and the original “Fire Country” series are eagerly anticipating the premiere of “Sheriff Country” to see how these new characters will interact and what mysteries they will uncover in the town of Edgewater.
