A tragic incident unfolded in Fontana, California, where a popular fitness influencer, Gloria Zamora, and her date, Hector Garduno, were fatally shot by Zamora’s jealous estranged husband. The heartbreaking incident occurred in the parking lot of a sushi restaurant, leaving behind a total of 11 children between the victims.
The perpetrator, Thomas Alberto Tamayo Lizarraga, who was Zamora’s second husband, carried out the shooting just days after Zamora had publicly announced on her podcast, HERizon, that she was leaving him. The Fontana Police Department revealed that the couple was going through a divorce, which ultimately led to the violent outcome.
Despite the tragic circumstances, off-duty law enforcement officers were present in the vicinity when the shooting took place. An off-duty San Bernardino County sheriff’s deputy happened to witness the incident while driving by the shopping center. The deputy promptly intervened, confronting Lizarraga and ultimately shooting him dead to prevent further harm.
The senseless act of violence has left Zamora’s seven children, aged 8 to 24, devastated and grappling with the loss of their beloved mother. In a heartfelt message on an online fundraiser, one of Zamora’s daughters, Jazlynne Zamora, expressed the family’s grief and described her mother as a beacon of light in the community. Zamora was known for uplifting and inspiring women, embodying the belief that women can achieve anything they set their minds to.
Similarly, Garduno’s children have also set up a GoFundMe page to honor their father’s memory. Describing Garduno as a devoted and hardworking man who was taken away too soon, the children seek support to cope with the tragic loss.
The investigation into the shooting is still ongoing, as authorities work to unravel the events leading up to the devastating incident. The community mourns the loss of Zamora and Garduno, two individuals who had a significant impact on those around them and whose lives were cut short by a senseless act of violence.
