A Missouri man has found himself in hot water after participating in a donut-spinning street “takeover” in Gage Park, Chicago. Emmanuel Wilson, 30, of Columbia, Missouri, was arrested by Chicago police in the early hours of Sunday morning. He was dressed in a police costume at the time of his arrest.
Wilson was driving a 2023 Dodge Charger Hellcat, which was equipped with police lights and a siren. The vehicle also had a flamethrower and a collection of license plates inside. The arrest took place in the 5600 block of South Kedzie after officers responded to a police emergency call due to takeover participants throwing objects at them.
The car, painted in a “black-and-white” police style with the words “Pit Enforcer” on the side, had a fake Texas license plate reading “911 STRIKER.” This same vehicle was caught on CPD surveillance camera on a previous occasion spinning circles in an intersection on October 27.
The police recognized Wilson’s car from the previous incident, where he was seen wearing a police costume and recording other drivers doing donuts around him. Video footage from this incident was shared on the @hellcatloki Instagram page.
Upon stopping Wilson’s vehicle, officers found a bag of suspected cannabis, a loaded 9-millimeter handgun, and another firearm inside the car. Wilson claimed to have a Missouri concealed carry permit, but he could not provide proof of this. Illinois does not recognize concealed carry permits from other states.
A search of the Hellcat revealed 61 grams of cannabis, multiple oscillating light bars, a green Pulsefire-brand flamethrower, a toy money dispensing gun, fireworks, and fake vanity plates. Wilson’s police costume included a uniform, toy handcuffs, a duty belt, a plastic police radio, and a fake badge.
Wilson was released from custody on Monday afternoon by Judge Caroline Glennon-Goodman. He faces charges of unlawful use of a weapon, unauthorized title or registration, possession of an oscillating police light, possession of cannabis by a driver, possession of fireworks, reckless driving, no valid registration, and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.
This incident serves as a reminder of the dangers of reckless driving and the consequences that come with it. It also highlights the importance of following the law and respecting the authority of law enforcement officers.
