Anticipated heavy rainfall is projected to result in flash flooding in various parts of Boulder and Weld counties on Wednesday evening, as per the National Weather Service.
The forecasters issued a flash flood warning for Lafayette and Erie at 6:41 p.m. following reports from weather radars indicating that thunderstorms had already deposited an inch or more of rain, with an additional inch expected.
“Flash flooding is either occurring or expected to commence shortly,” the forecasters stated.

The potential for flooding exists in small creeks, streams, gulches, roads, and low-lying areas with poor drainage.
Individuals impacted by the flooding are advised to move to higher ground immediately and refrain from driving on flooded roads.
The flash flood warning remains in effect until 9:45 p.m., according to forecasters.
