A man from Florida has been implicated in a double murder after one of the victims reportedly recorded the incident on her cellphone, as indicated in recent reports.

Louis Jules, aged 59, was taken into custody on Friday, just under eight hours after the video evidence of the shootings was extracted from the phone of one of the victims, a woman found partially out of a white pickup truck in Tampa, according to WTVT.

The footage, which was captured by the unnamed 40-year-old female victim, appeared to show Jules standing by the rear passenger side of the truck, holding a set of keys and a drink before the gunfire erupted, as reported by Law and Crime, referencing a police affidavit.

The video illustrated Jules rummaging through the vehicle, startling the 37-year-old male driver, who exclaimed, “Hey, you can’t go in my car.”

Subsequently, Jules allegedly threw the contents of his drink at the driver while his right hand reached for his semi-automatic firearm.

According to the affidavit from the Tampa Police Department, the video showed Jules point the gun towards the area where the male victim was eventually located and then reload the weapon.

The tragic screams of the female victim were caught on video as her partner was shot.

Authorities reported that the woman recorded the shooting of her male companion and her desperate attempt to escape the scene before being
shot herself.

She attempted to escape the scene in vain, but was shot multiple times as she exited the passenger side of the truck.

After the shooting, Jules was observed on the video shutting the truck’s door and then leaving the scene, as reported by Law and Crime.

That same evening, neighbors recognized Jules from the video, which led police to track him down at a friend’s residence, where officers witnessed him discarding a black semi-automatic pistol, as stated in police reports.

During questioning, Jules confessed that the altercation arose because the victims supposedly “owed him money” and that he was “very angry,” according to the affidavit.

He faces charges of two counts of first-degree murder and one count of evidence tampering, as per WTVT.
