A tragic incident unfolded in Florida, where a mother allegedly killed her 6-year-old son in a disturbing attempt to “exorcise demons” from his body. The boy, Ra’myl Pierre, was found dead in his bed at the family’s Fort Pierce home after school officials reported his prolonged absence. The mother, Rhonda Paulynice, was arrested on the same day.
Authorities discovered the boy’s decaying remains, and the official cause and time of death are pending an autopsy. Sheriff Richard Del Toro revealed that Paulynice believed she was instructed by God to perform the exorcism on her son. She thought that the child had been released from demons when he stopped moving and eventually passed away.
In the days leading up to the tragic discovery, Paulynice inundated social media with cryptic and obsessive religious posts. She exhibited erratic behavior, alternating between laughing and crying, as investigators combed through the eerie home on Bedford Drive. Del Toro expressed the heart-wrenching difficulty of witnessing the death of a beloved child and the impact it would have on the community.
Law enforcement had responded to the residence multiple times for domestic disputes between Paulynice and her sister, who previously lived there, but the young boy was never involved. The last visit was for a reported medical issue on May 17, the day before Ra’myl was believed to have been killed. Despite these interactions, there were no indications that the mother posed a threat to her son.
Paulynice was charged with second-degree murder, failure to report a death, and altering a body. She was taken into custody at St. Lucie County Jail. The community is left grappling with the senseless loss of a vibrant 6-year-old boy who was loved by all who knew him.
