The scandalous case of Florida nurse Alexis Von Yates has taken a new turn as her state medical license has been revoked following her conviction for sexually assaulting her 15-year-old stepson. The revocation of her nursing license comes just weeks after her husband filed for divorce, signaling the end of their tumultuous marriage.
Von Yates, a native of Ocala, is currently serving a two-year prison sentence after being caught in a compromising position with her teenage stepson at their family home in July 2024. She pleaded no contest to lewd and lascivious battery and was incarcerated in September 2025 on a reduced sentence from the original charge of sexual battery.
The Florida Department of Health made the decision to strip Von Yates of her nursing license after a meeting with the Board of Nursing and her attorney last month. The final order revealed that she did not dispute the allegations against her, leading to the permanent revocation of her license.
In a separate development, court records show that Von Yates’ husband filed for divorce in response to her inappropriate behavior with her stepson. The arrest affidavit from Marion County detailed the disturbing events that unfolded on the night of July 26, 2024, when Von Yates initiated sexual contact with her stepson after putting her younger children to bed.
The stepmother and stepson engaged in intimate activities, including oral sex and intercourse, before being interrupted by the boy’s father, who arrived home unexpectedly. The father was shocked to find them naked on the couch and immediately confronted his wife, leading to a heated altercation.
Following the incident, the boy was taken to his grandparents’ house, and the police were eventually notified of the crime. Von Yates was arrested and charged with sexual battery on a person aged 12 to 18, but later pleaded guilty to a lesser charge as part of a plea agreement.
Under the terms of the plea deal, Von Yates was sentenced to two years in prison, followed by two years of community control. She will also be required to register as a sex offender for 10 years, perform 200 hours of community service, and pay fines and court costs.
Von Yates’ fall from grace has been swift and severe, with the loss of her nursing license and impending divorce marking the end of a once-promising career and personal life. She remains incarcerated in Florida, serving out her sentence for the disturbing crimes she committed against her own stepson.
