A Florida elementary school teacher found herself in hot water this week after being caught on bodycam footage behaving inappropriately at a wild house party in January. The incident involved around 200 underage kids getting drunk at the home of Roosevelt Elementary School principal Elizabeth Hill-Brodigan in Cocoa Beach.
Karly Anderson, 45, was placed on leave after her arrest for her alleged involvement in the out-of-control party. The footage showed Anderson, who was allegedly intoxicated, cursing at and arguing with Cocoa Beach Police Department officers outside the house, revealing her identity as a teacher and admitting her presence at the party.
Following the release of the footage, Brevard County Public Schools decided to remove Anderson from the classroom, with board member Matt Susis condemning her actions as “deplorable” and “disgusting.” However, the school district stated that Anderson was cleared of felony child abuse charges, which were reduced to misdemeanor disorderly conduct and disorderly intoxication.
Despite being cleared by the State Attorney and the Department of Children and Family Services, parents at Saturn Elementary, where Anderson was quietly transferred before being placed on leave, expressed outrage over her potential return to teaching.
Both Anderson and Hill-Brodigan are facing charges of child neglect and contributing to the delinquency of a minor for hosting the chaotic party, where underage attendees were reportedly intoxicated and engaging in fights. The incident has sparked a backlash from the community, with concerns about the safety and well-being of students under the care of the accused individuals.
