Former NASCAR driver Michael Annett has left a void in the racing community with his untimely passing.
Annett’s former team, JR Motorsports, confirmed his passing on Friday. The news was also verified by NASCAR.com.

The circumstances surrounding his death remain unclear, but his colleague Brad Keselowski expressed relief that Annett is now at peace.
Annett began his Xfinity Series journey in 2008, eventually competing in 321 races throughout his esteemed career. He also spent time in the NASCAR Cup Series with Turner Scott Motorsports from 2014 to 2016.
His time at JRM Motorsports from 2017 onwards saw him participate in 158 Xfinity Series races, including a memorable victory at Daytona International Speedway in 2019.
A stress fracture sidelined him during the 2021 season, ultimately marking his last competitive year in the sport.
Before making his mark in stock car racing, Annett showcased his athletic prowess as a defenseman for the Tier I junior ice hockey team, the Waterloo Black Hawks.
Michael Annett’s legacy will forever endure in the hearts of racing enthusiasts. He was 39 years old.
