Fox Entertainment Studios has partnered with HarperCollins Publishers to establish a reciprocal first-look arrangement.

As stated in their press release, this collaboration aims to foster an “ongoing content pipeline” between the two organizations. Under this agreement, Fox will adapt novels from HarperCollins’ Avon A imprint into series and films, while HarperCollins will have the chance to translate original studio works into published formats. They are also exploring opportunities for cross-platform projects, such as publishing companion books alongside film and television releases. Executives Caroline Fraser and Jennifer Contrucci from HarperCollins Productions will act as non-writing producers on the joint projects.

“Avon A boasts a remarkable library of diverse, genre-focused stories across various categories that are ripe for adaptation,” commented Hannah Pillemer, head of scripted programming at Fox. “Leveraging this vast and continually expanding collection presents tremendous storytelling opportunities, providing timely engagement for both audiences and readers. The collaborative framework of our partnership enhances the excitement, allowing us to introduce audiences to beloved characters in innovative formats.”

“Creating new intellectual properties that span both screen and print is a fantastic opportunity for storytellers, whether they’re authors or screenwriters,” stated Fraser, head of HarperCollins Productions. “The teams at Avon A and Fox are actively compiling their wish lists for adaptations and plan to unveil an initial series of exciting storytelling ventures shortly. This collaboration will surely captivate audiences through new films and inspire them to explore related books, making it a perfect partnership.”

“This collaboration is about establishing a genuine creative dialogue between two entities that are deeply in tune with the desires of readers and viewers alike,” remarked Tessa Woodward, vice president and editorial director at Avon A. “By merging our commitment to producing trend-driven, genre-inclusive fiction for all ages with Fox’s proven ability to deliver memorable scripted entertainment, we are crafting a pipeline that will not only present engaging, commercially viable stories but will also deepen fan interactions and offer fresh access points to our authors’ creations.”
