Frasca Food and Wine was awarded the prestigious title of Outstanding Restaurant in the country at the James Beard Foundation awards ceremony on Monday evening in Chicago.

Out of the six nominations for Colorado chefs and restaurants, Frasca was the sole winner. Located at 1738 Pearl St. in Boulder, this Italian fine-dining establishment has now secured its fourth Beard win, having been nominated numerous times in various categories over the years.

Upon receiving the award, co-founder Bobby Stuckey expressed his gratitude to the restaurant’s guests, employees, and executive chef Ian Palazzola, highlighting the beauty of the industry. Stuckey, a master sommelier, concluded his speech by bidding the audience good evening in Italian.

In addition to this recent win, Frasca has previously been recognized by the James Beard Foundation for outstanding service in 2019, outstanding wine program in 2013, and best chef in the Southwest for Lachlan Mackinnon-Patterson in 2008.

Although Colorado restaurants and chefs were nominated in various categories, including Alma Fonda Fina for best new restaurant and Penelope Wong of Yuan Wonton for best chef in the Mountain region, no additional awards were received.

Earlier this year, Bobby Stuckey was honored with the Julia Child Award by the Julia Child Foundation for Gastronomy and the Culinary Arts, further solidifying his contributions to the culinary world.
