A Skier Dies After Crashing Into Light Pole at Keystone Resort
A tragic incident occurred at Keystone Resort on Tuesday afternoon when a skier from the Front Range lost control while skiing down the Haywood trail and crashed into a padded light pole. The Summit County Sheriff’s Office confirmed the skier’s death.
Despite the ski patrol’s immediate life-saving measures and transportation to the Keystone Medical Center, the skier was pronounced dead. The Summit County Sheriff’s Office technicians, who also serve as deputy coroners, arrived at the scene to investigate the incident.
No evidence of foul play or intoxication has been found by investigators. The skier was wearing a helmet and was the sole individual involved in the crash. The Summit County Coroner’s Office will release the skier’s identity, as well as the cause and manner of death.
