Frontier Airlines recently came under fire after UFC legend Khabib Nurmagomedov was booted off a flight over the weekend. The airline claimed that Khabib ignored a flight attendant’s instructions before takeoff, causing the altercation. However, a close source to Khabib spoke to TMZ Sports and refuted these claims, stating that they were false.
According to Frontier Airlines, Khabib was seated in an exit row and failed to indicate that he was willing and able to assist in the event of an emergency. The airline stated that despite repeated attempts to communicate with Khabib, he did not respond, placing him in non-compliance with FAA requirements.
Instead of immediately kicking him off the plane, the flight attendant offered Khabib two options – switch seats or deplane. Frontier Airlines also pointed out that the video circulating on social media failed to capture this part of the incident.
Frontier Airlines made it clear that the decision to deplane Khabib was not related to his ethnicity. Khabib’s manager, Ali Abdelaziz, refuted Frontier’s version of the story, stating that Khabib had made it clear that he was capable of assisting in case of an emergency.
Khabib himself explained the situation on Sunday, stating, “Lady who comes to me with questions was very rude from the very beginning, even though I speak very decent English and can understand everything and agreed to assist, she still insists on removing me from my seat. What was the base for that, racial, national or other one, I’m not sure.”
Despite the unfortunate incident, Khabib is focused on his upcoming UFC 311 fight on Saturday and is looking to move past this incident. The controversy surrounding his removal from the flight has not deterred him from his training and preparation for the upcoming fight.
In conclusion, while the details of the altercation between Khabib Nurmagomedov and Frontier Airlines may be disputed, Khabib remains focused on his career and is determined to overcome any obstacles that come his way.
