The IPL 2026 auction is just around the corner, with the final player list being released earlier this week. A total of 350 players will be up for grabs at the mini-auction, set to take place in Abu Dhabi on December 16.
Initially, a long-list of 1,390 players was shortlisted, which has now been narrowed down to the final auction list of 350 cricketers. Among them, there are 240 Indian players and 110 overseas players. The pool includes 224 uncapped Indian cricketers, 14 uncapped overseas cricketers, 16 capped Indian players, and 96 capped overseas cricketers.
During the mini-auction, the 10 franchises will compete to fill 77 available slots, with 31 spots reserved for overseas cricketers. The players have been categorized into eight price brackets, ranging from ₹2 crore to ₹30 lakh.
Notably, 15 players from South Africa have registered for the IPL 2026 auction, with four of them setting their base price at ₹2 crore – David Miller, Gerald Coetzee, Anrich Nortje, and Lungi Ngidi. Miller, who had a challenging season in IPL 2025 with Lucknow Super Giants, will be looking for a better performance this time around.
Coetzee, who was released by Gujarat Titans, and Nortje, who was released by Kolkata Knight Riders, will also be aiming to make an impact in the upcoming season. Ngidi, released by Royal Challengers Bengaluru, will be eager to showcase his skills once again.
Other South African players who have registered for the auction include Wiaan Mulder, Quinton de Kock, Reeza Hendricks, George Linde, Connor Esterhuizen, Tristan Luus, Dwaine Pretorius, Delano Potgieter, Tiaan van Vuuren, Bayanda Majola, and Dian Forrester.
Several South African players have been retained by their respective franchises ahead of the auction, including Aiden Markram, Matthew Breetzke, Kagiso Rabada, Ryan Rickelton, Corbin Bosch, Dewald Brevis, Heinrich Klaasen, and Tristan Stubbs.
