Recently, social media was abuzz with rumors about whether a notable AEW figure would be part of the promotion’s international events. The wrestler in question, Rush, has now addressed these speculations, dismissing them outright.
Known in the ring as El Toro Blanco, Rush joined All Elite Wrestling in mid-2022. He quickly became one of the most formidable and captivating competitors in the Jacksonville-based promotion. Lately, this aggressive fighter has maintained a six-match winning streak in singles competition across AEW’s Dynamite and Collision shows, as well as in Ring of Honor, where he occasionally performs. Impressively, Rush secured his last three singles victories in under two minutes, highlighting his fierce intensity.
Despite his recent frequent appearances on television, Rush found himself at the center of speculation when a user on X/Twitter suggested that the 37-year-old might be barred from participating in the 2026 AEW Grand Slam Mexico. This speculation was attributed to the fallout from his 2019 departure from CMLL. The Mexico City-based promotion dismissed the LFI leader, along with his brother Dragon Lee, for missing CMLL’s 86th Anniversary event in favor of competing at ROH Death Before Dishonor 2019.
It was theorized that his contentious exit from CMLL contributed to his absence from last year’s Grand Slam Mexico event. However, Rush, a former ROH World Champion, recently took to X/Twitter to refute the user’s claims, stating:
“Just like you, there are many. Full of lies. If you don’t know the story, better stay quiet, you filthy one.” – posted Rush.

Recently, Swerve Strickland stirred up social media by posting about AEW’s lack of television time for him. The Realest later deleted the post, prompting speculation about whether he was genuinely expressing discontent with the company. It was eventually clarified that the tweet was made in character.
In an unexpected turn, Swerve’s post prompted an intense response from Rush, who directed a harsh comment at The Mogul, saying:
“Shut up b**ch Cállate perro !”
Check out Rush’s tweet HERE.
It remains uncertain whether a one-on-one match between Rush and Strickland will take place in AEW.
