Ganni Resort Collection: A Fusion of Danish and French Cultures
As creative director Ditte Reffstrup commuted between Copenhagen and Paris, she found inspiration in the clash between Danish and French cultures for the latest Ganni resort collection. The collection reflects a blend of sophistication and fun, catering to those who seek cozy hibernation as well as those with a party spirit.
The opening look featured a Gannified toggle coat reminiscent of Paddington Bear, paired with a knee-length sheath adorned with mocha-colored sequins and a shoulder bow flourish. Longer skirt lengths added polish, while Danish house clog-inspired kitten heels added a cool touch to the ensembles.
Elements from the fall 2025 collection made a return, including Peter Pan collars, floral jacquard denim, and a three-tier silhouette. Reffstrup expressed her love for layering, evident in a closing look comprising a blazer, short circle skirt, and pants. The collection also showcased a playful side, with a sweater featuring a banana motif tied around the shoulders of a pleated mini dress layered over a ruffled leopard-print skirt.
Reffstrup drew inspiration from her father, a fisherman, for the classic yellow Icelandic-style pullover in the collection. Other standout pieces included a “story sweater” with a bunny rabbit and a sustainability message, a gray-striped blouse with “angel” sleeves, and denim pieces adorned with bows and rick-rack trim – all embodying the concept of dopamine dressing.
Amidst the chaos of the world, Reffstrup aims to bring joy to people through her designs. She stated, “There’s so much stuff going on, but I really want to put a smile on people’s faces.”
